Amidst the recession and lack of economic growth and employment of 1995-1996, Melatti saw the opportunity and took a calculated risk to acquire a piece of land below market value with a vision to develop a large scale 350-unit rental project. This strategic approach helped secure the supply and install contracts at lucrative budgets while delivering higher than expected quality accommodations.
As a result Melatti secured a 4-year runway for local labour and the Giovanni Caboto was one of the very few large equivalent size residential projects being successfully active. Till today this project remains one of the best quality products in the family rental market of LaSalle. The city of LaSalle has demonstrated gratitude towards the Company by naming a street and a park in honor of Melatti.
